Invitational Tournament Trail
2004 Newsletter No. 1
May 9, 2004
The Indiana Bass Federation's second tournament was held at Lake Monroe on Sunday May 9, 2004. The weather was great with temperatures in the mid 80's and a whole lot of sunshine. The lake was at summer pool with water temperatures in the low 60's.
On the Co-Angler side Tom Schrader was your winner with two fish that weighed in at 8.28 pounds. Tom also had Big Bass on the Co-Angler side with a 5.74 pound largemouth. Walter Pedigo was second with four fish at 7.72 pounds. Walter collected an extra $25.00 from Solar Bats by wearing and talking about his Solar Bat sunglasses. Rounding out the top five were: third place - Donnie Ubelhor with two fish at 6.94 pounds; fourth place - Tom Rea with two fish at 6.78 pounds; and fifth place - Jason Murray with three fish at 6.66 pounds.
Year to date overall standings on your Co-angler side are: first place - Donnie Ubelhor with 192 points; second place - Brian Thompson with 190 points; third place - Jason Murray with 183 points; fourth place - Roy Potter with 181 points; and fifth place - Pete Justice with 178 points.
Great job on the Co-Anglers side.
On the Angler side it was Paul Jones who figured out the Monroe puzzle. He had four fish that weighed 12.28 pounds. Congratulations to Paul on a great jot. He also received the Solar Bat money for wearing and talking about his sunglasses. Must have been sight fishing!
Second place was taken by Mark Dove with four fish at a weight of 10.12 pounds. Jerry Arnett came in third with three fish weighing in at 9.38 pounds. Fourth place went to Phil Reel with three fish that went 9.20 pounds. Terry McWilliams took fifth place with three fish at 8.84 pounds. These guys did a great job on a sunny, tough day on the water.
Big Bass on the Angler's side was caught by Brandon McDonald and weighed in at a healthy 6.75 pounds. The Progressive Big Bass Pot was 7.00 pounds and will carry over to our June 6, 2004 tournament at the Ohio River Madison.
The overall standings for the Anglers for 2004 after the second tournament are: first place - Phil Reel with 193 points; second place - Scott Bateman with 189 points; third place - Stu Moyer with 182 points; fourth place - Marvin Parton with 177 points; and Terry McWilliams with 173 points.
The run for Angler of the Year is starting to look like a great shoot out with a lot of the Anglers still in the running.
All the fishermen and women did a great job. Thanks for your support and we will see you at Madison on June 6th!
