BASS KIDS of INDIANA

With every ending, there is a new and fun beginning!

The Bass Kids of Indiana, an Indiana Jr. Bass club, have completed their fifth season of bass fishing fun. All of the kids shared in the exciting experience of being out on the water fishing for that sometimes hard to find character, "Mr. Bigmouth Bass". Sometimes he might have been found in the grass with a fast moving spinnerbait or sometimes under a log with a plastic worm, or maybe even in a stump with a jig-n-pig or crankbait. But no matter how you found him, it was so exciting to just feel him pull on your line.

This past year the club had yet another young person who found where he lived and what he wanted to eat more than anyone else did. Her name is Autumn McCue. She is an 11-year-old girl who enjoys fishing. She finished at the top of the list while enjoying time spent with her fellow fishing friends and her Dad.

Listed here are the final standings for the 2001 season.

  1. Autumn McCue, age 11
  2. Mark Gibbs, age 14
  3. Danielle Quinlin, age 5
  4. Aaron Bennington, age 13
  5. Austin Brown, age 15
  6. Sierra Grammer
  7. Bryon Bennington, age 14
  8. Ryan Shepard, age 14

  12. Eathan Kiser
  13. Ryan Rhodehamel, age 9
  14. Naethan Clark

Congratulations to all the kids for putting forth a great effort to "just go out and have some fun fishing".

There is a special story to be told by each child, for each day and each fish they caught. Ask any of them and I am sure that they would love to tell you all about it.

Thanks go out to all the members of the Central Indiana Bass Anglers of Moorseville, IN. This is the parent club for this Jr. Bass club.

A special "thank you" goes out to, Garry Kincaid, Mike & Tina Quinlin, Tim & Ahna McCue, Lewis Mallory, Scott Rhodehamel, Jeff Helton, Tim Morgan, and Joe Spalding. These folks supplied their time and equipment to take these kids fishing.

The Bass Kids of Indiana would also like to thank some of the sponsors who have supported them:

  • Central Indiana Bass Anglers
  • Galyan's Trading Post
  • The Outdoorsman
  • Tackle Service Center
  • Hawg Back Lures

Six kids from this club will make up the 2002 Indiana Bass Federation Youth Team. They will be going to Laurel, Delaware this July to fish in the 2002 Junior Invitational Nationals Finals tournament. Good luck to the team and good luck to all of the kids in this up coming season.

Anyone youngster interested in joining the Bass Kids of Indiana, can contact Garry Kincaid @ (765) 349-0840 or Mike Quinlin @ (317) 834-1774.

Any adult interested in helping take some kids fishing can also contact either of these gentlemen.
