President’s Message
May 2008
The TOP 8 Tournaments are on most of our minds at this time of year. With a heavy winter snowfall and more than enough of spring rain, I hope that all TOP 8 Tournaments go well. Each club member needs to make sure that they are listed on their TBF Roster with both a TBF and FLW number that is current. Both numbers will be needed to be eligible to fish in the Top 8 tournaments. The State finals will be held on Mississinewa Reservoir on September the 20th and 21st of 2008. We moved the date because of conflicts with our TBF Northern Divisional and the BFL Super Tournament. I hope that this date does not conflict with club classics.
The I.B.F. Trail kicked off on March the16th at Patoka and a longtime IBF Angler finally won his first IBF Trail Tournament. Bob Toppe drew out boat #1 and won first place in the 99-boat field .I t appeared to be Bob's weekend. Congratulations Bob.
Larry McIntosh and his crew have set up a great circuit for the upcoming year. Keep in mind that this years Angler and Co-Angler of the year will qualify to fish in the Bassfan Weekend Warrior Championship in 2009. This is a no entry fee championship. Total payout is $25,000.00 for first place in the WWC Championship. Help Larry make this a banner year with the IBF Trail.
The 2008 Bassfan Weekend Warrior Championship has just wrapped up and Indiana's own Brad Moser was the event winner. Brad along with Kelly Hook, Paul Jones and Dale Fess all qualified through the Hoosier Open Circuit. Our IBF/TBF representatives of Norbert Jaromin and Bob Bruick finished 8th and 24th respectively. Congratulations to all of the 6 Indiana Anglers.
At the time of this writing Terry McWilliams and Mike Seal will be heading to the TBF National Championship in April in North Carolina. Vice-President Don Jenkins and myself will be attending the National Championship for workshop meetings and to cheer Terry and Mike on. Terry has a shot at the $100,000.00 TBF Living the Dream package of a wrapped Ranger boat and a wrapped Chevy truck along with all entries paid into either the BFL or FLW Series Tournaments. GOOD LUCK to both Terry and Mike.
By now many of you are aware of the several member benefit packages that the TBF has aligned for its and our members. Chevy and Evinrude both had lucrative rebate offers for TBF members. One other incentive is Berkley Pure Fishing. Details of this package will become available after the TBF National Championship, yet the main focus will be on the fact that ALL TBF members will be able to order Berkley Pure Fishing products at 50% OFF RETAIL. This will be accomplished at several times of the year [to be determined] and will be restricted to TBF Club officers and members with an email address that is current on your club rosters. Get all members email addresses listed for not only this promotion but for email [protected] blasts from the TBF. This will be a big help in National and State up to the minute news.
Remember to thank all National, State and Local Sponsors each and every time that you run into any of them. Until next time:
Good Luck and Good Fishin'
Doug Bradley
