After a week of weather in the high 70's and low 80's mother nature threw us a curve ball and dropped the temperature to the low 40's with severe thunder storms Saturday night. Sunday morning 72 out of the 77 teams answered the call for the start of the tournament. At take-off the weather broke for a short time and then it let go again with thunder, lightning accompanied with heavy periods of rain. Lake Monroe was on the rise again it was already about 6 or 7 feet higher than summer pool. It was reported that water temperatures where in the mid to high 60's and reports on Saturday of anglers spotting big bass in the shallows but that all went by the wayside with the weather that came in. This was our 12th year with an 11-year total of donating to the Indiana Children's Wish Fund in the amount of $120,000.00 with an additional $5,000.00 for year 2002.
