2013 Patoka Lake Results

The 2013 Indiana Bass Federation Invitational Trail is now underway. The first of the six trail tournaments was held at Patoka Lake on Sunday April 7th.  The weather was very nice reaching 70* in the late afternoon. There was a breeze from the south most of the day.  We had 74 Anglers and 73 Co-Anglers therefore one angler fished alone.  The fish count and bag weights were a little off as the water still needs to warm up a little more to get the fish active. Honey Creek Tackle was our partner for this tournament.  Meeting was held at Patoka Lake Marina and Lodging.

On the Angler side.

Last years Classic winner Lincoln Bowen of Crothersville again bested the field with 4 bass that weighed 13.26 lbs.

Lincoln’s bag was anchored by a 6.62 largemouth.  Lincoln walked away with $3,030.00

Rob Kelley, of Greenwood also had 4 keepers for a total of 11.60 lbs. paying Rob second place money of $1,709.00

Ron Eicher, of Clarksville had 3 solid fish for 11.06 lbs. paying him $1010.00

Chris Cox of Clayton, IN ended up 4th with 2 fish weighing 10.98. Chris’s kicker was 6.68 lbs which was second big bass.  Chris took home $777.00 for 4th.

Troy Keen of Avon, IN. was 5th with 2 for 10.92 lbs.  That paid him $543.00

Shawn Bruntlett of Indianapolis weighed three for 10.20 lbs placing him 6th with $388.00

Phil Miller of Greensburg weighed in two for a total of 9.54 lbs.  7th place and $310.00

Terry McWilliams of Greenfield was first out of the money with 8.76 lbs.  He was awarded a nice Shimano Rod from A20 Boating Supplies in Jeffersonville.

Big Bass on the Angler side went to David Martin with a nice 6.82 lb. largemouth. . Big Bass paid $720.00     There were 37 Anglers that weighed fish.

On the Co-Angler side,

1st.  Ryan Burton, of Indianapolis weighed in 3 fish for 12.00 lbs.  He took home $1495.00

2nd . Charles Fox, of Austin IN. had 3 for 9.24 lbs. paying him $843.00

3rd.   Jeff Lane of Knightstown, IN had 2 for 6.4 lbs.  paying $498.00

4th    Red Grider of Deputy, IN had only 1, but it was big bass of 6.14 lbs. paying him $383.00 for placing and another $365.00 for Big Bass

5th.   Joey Mindach of Indianapolis had 2 for 5.9 lbs.  he took home $268.00

6th    Jeff White, of Bloomington had 2 for 5.8 lbs. paying him $191.00

7th.   Rod Yoder, of West Lafayette, had 1 for 5.12 paying him $153.00

8th.   Al Gillum with 4.52 lbs. which was First Out of the Money.  He received a nice Shimano Rod From A20 Boating Supplies in Jeffersonville

A total of 24 Co-Anglers weighed in fish.

The points start at 100 and descend. 99 to second place etc.  Attached are photographs of the top 5 finishers in each category.

The Federation pays 70% of the entry fees back at each tournament. The remaining monies are used for expenses and the classic fund. The classic is known as the Forrest L.Wood Classic.

The 2012 Angler winner won $8,000.00 plus a $5,000 certificate toward a Ranger Boat.

The Co-Angler won $4,000.00 and other prizes. Total classic payout was over $15,000.00

Our next event will be held May 12th at Brookville.
