IBF Junior Anglers Program

For ages 11-15. (If you turn 16 years old before August 31 of 2020, you will not be able to advance the Junior World Championship).

The tournament format is 2-person teams. This will allow young anglers to team with a buddy for the season and fish from their own boats with their own boat captains!

It is strongly encouraged to establish a partner and a boat/boat captain prior to registration. However, if you are unable to do so, just fill out the registration as a “Non-boater” and we will do all we can to team you up with another single angler for the season as well as help find a volunteer boat captain for each tournament.

Once a partner is established, that will be the pairing for the season.   Points are accumulated throughout the season as team standings.   If a teammate cannot attend one of the tournaments we will allow the angler to fish alone. Due to new regulations for 2019, there must be at least 3 people in the boat during the tournament, no exceptions. This could be a substitute, another single angler, a parent or other volunteer who has completed a liability waiver.

In an attempt to reduce the amount of travel required and to hopefully increase the participation in the program, we have created a North and South tournament trail for the Indiana Bass Federation Junior Program. Anglers choose which division to compete in.  After the scheduled tournaments for each trail, we will schedule a “state championship” tournament. This will include the top teams based on percentage of participants from each division. The top team will qualify for the TBF Junior World Championship (JWC) the following August.

IBF Student Angler Federation (SAF) – High School Program

Open to all 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th grade high school students. The tournament format is 2-person teams and teams are required to have their own boat and captain.

In an attempt to reduce the amount of travel required and to hopefully increase the participation in the program, we have created a North and South tournament trail for the Indiana Bass Federation High School Program. Anglers choose which division to compete in.  After the scheduled tournaments for each trail, we will schedule a “state fish off” tournament.  This is not to be confused with the TBF/SAF Indiana State Championship (Open to all Student Angler Federation/SAF members).
